Rick has been practicing law in private practice and as in-house counsel for more than thirty years.  He began his legal career with a prominent franchise practice in Washington, DC, where he counseled franchisors on all legal aspects of franchising from drafting and registering franchise disclosure documents to terminating franchise agreements.  Seeking to expand the scope of his practice, he moved to an of-counsel position with a smaller firm in suburban Maryland, allowing him to represent both franchisors and franchisees.  When a franchisor client offered him the opportunity to serve as Assistant General Counsel, he began his in-house career.

Currently serving as the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Precision Auto Care, Inc., a division of Icahn Automotive Group LLC in Northern Virginia, Rick has a record of counseling publicly-traded companies, developing and leading efficient legal teams, and reducing legal spend.  He enjoys solving problems and providing counsel on a wide range of legal matters and strategic business decisions impacting the future of the company.  Rick builds strong partnerships with internal clients to effect robust compliance while achieving operational objectives.  At Precision Auto Care, Rick works closely with the Chief Executive Officer/President of the company and the Chief Financial Officer.  He also advises the Board of Directors on corporate governance matters.
